Why inbound positioning outperforms outbound hustle and how to shift from outreach to attraction.
In my early days as a fractional CMO, I thought hustle was the answer.
Pitch more.
Post more.
Follow up more.
More outreach meant more opportunity… right?
But the results were underwhelming.
I’d get nods.
“Looks great.”
“Let me think about it.”
Then silence.
It wasn’t the work.
It wasn’t the pricing.
It was the positioning.
See, when you’re always chasing—always trying to get clients—you’re putting yourself in the wrong frame.
The frame of a vendor.
Of someone trying to earn a shot.

But when you flip that?

That’s the real difference between outbound hustle and inbound strategy:
Outbound says, “Let me convince you.”
Inbound says, “I’m the one you’ve been looking for.”
This doesn’t mean you stop reaching out entirely.
But when you position yourself right?
Outreach becomes a filter—not a hunt.
And attraction becomes your default.
