Back when I first went fractional, I believed something a lot of smart people believe:
“If I do great work, the right clients will find me.”
So I focused on serving. Executing. Delivering results.
No public content. No POV. No visibility strategy.
I figured my track record would speak for itself.
But here’s what I learned the hard way:
Your reputation doesn’t follow you. You have to build it—again. Out loud.
Because even if you’ve worked with global brands… Even if you’ve led big teams, big budgets, big wins… None of that matters if no one sees you now.
This is why so many brilliant executives end up underbooked.
Not because they’re not great. But because they’re invisible.
And here’s what’s worse:
The people who are showing up—even with half the experience—are winning the work.
Not because they’re better. Because they’re visible.
Because they’ve taken the time to show up consistently, with a clear point of view.
They’re remembered. They’re trusted. They’re booked.
If you’re not creating visibility, you’re not creating opportunity.
And for fractional executives, visibility is credibility.
