The Office Sandwich Thief (And What They Taught Me About Business)
Ever worked with someone so shameless, you almost had to respect it? Yeah... me too.
Back in the days when we all still worked in actual offices, there was always that coworker.
The one who talked way too loud on the phone.
The one who printed 500 pages at a time and never picked them up.
The one who always “forgot” their wallet when the lunch bill came.
But my personal favorite?
The sandwich thief.
Yes, a grown adult, with a salary and a fully functional kitchen at home, who routinely stole other people’s lunches from the office fridge.
And they weren’t subtle about it.
Oh no.
They took the good lunches.
If you left behind a sad, wilted salad? Untouched.
A half-eaten yogurt? Safe.
But a perfectly wrapped turkey sandwich on fresh sourdough with a side of chips? Gone.
Now, I’d like to say I was above it. That I just let it go.
But one day, after watching my lunch vanish for the third time that month, I set a trap.
A sandwich. Carefully labeled with my name. Innocent on the outside.
But inside? A sticky note that said:
"Hope you’re enjoying this, because now we all know who you are."
And wouldn’t you know it?
The next day, the sandwich thief was suspiciously full at lunchtime.
What does this have to do with business?
Well, this sandwich thief had one major problem—they weren’t honest about who they were.
They pretended to be one thing, but behind closed doors (or fridge doors), they did something else.
And that’s exactly what I never wanted to be.
Because in business, nothing builds trust faster than authenticity.
The fractionals who try to sound corporate and polished, hiding their real personality, wondering why they aren’t attracting the right clients?
They’re playing a losing game.
Because people don’t buy from businesses.
They buy from people—real, flawed, imperfect people who show up as themselves.
That’s why I built Fractional in a Box.
It’s not another course telling you to “be professional” and “blend in.”
It’s a system designed to help you own your expertise, build a brand that actually reflects you, and attract the right clients—without pretending to be someone you’re not.
And right now, I’m breaking it all down in my free webinar.
If you’re tired of trying to sound like everyone else and are ready to build a fractional business that feels authentic to you…
See you on the live webinar,
